Guru Football Manager is a football management simulation game based on real teams and real players, which can be played by either post or email.
There are two game options available to you:
EURO LEAGUES
This game has been created to bring together all the top teams from across Europe. The teams are split into four pools with two leagues within each pool. There will be weekly league games as well as cup competitions where teams from all the leagues will compete against each other.
NATIONAL LEAGUES
This encompasses all the major leagues from across Europe, respective domestic cups and all European competitions.
Whichever game you choose to play you will be sent your weekly information in exactly the same way.
What you will receive
Every week you will be sent a weekly turn which is in an excel format. A weekly turn is everything you need to play Guru Football Manager. The only piece of computer software you will need is WINZIP as some of the information that you will receive is quite large.
If you do not have WINZIP (most computers do) then you can download it for FREE by visiting www.winzip.com/downwz.htm. It is for a trial period of 21 days, but for just unzipping the files we will send you it can still be used after this period. The advantage of sending your turn in this way is that is it is easy to store or print, it can be shared (if you want) with other managers and it will arrive a day earlier than if we post your turn back to you.
To enable you to get the most out of your team and Guru you will be provided with all league tables and results, player tables, updated squad and team statistics, match reports from your games, a weekly newspaper with the latest rumours and lots more information relating to the weekly on goings within you club. We will not supply you with pages and pages of endless useless information, but a highly detailed presentation of data in a user friendly style.
What you will have to do
All you need to do is send back your weekly team selection and any off-field activities you wish to carry out. Our customised 'Weekly Jobs' section allows you to train your players, trade on the transfer market and interact with your staff and more importantly other managers playing Guru Football Manager. To make the team selection section more realistic we have included a tactics board which allows you to visually place you players on the field and give them instructions. The information you send back to use will be fed into our simulation program, which will generate match results and outcomes of all your other actions.
What it costs
As you can see below the pricing structure for playing the game is such that everyone can enjoy the realism and excitement of Guru Football Manager at an affordable price. The cost is the same regardless of your division. This is due to the fact that every player, no matter what team you are managing, will receive the same high class and detailed service every turn. So whether you are lying near the bottom of the English third division or flying high in La Liga, your gaming experience will be just as enjoyable. How to join
You can join by printing the application form and post to us or fill out the online application form. Once you have joined you will receive a starter pack which will show you a sample of all the information you will get on a weekly basis, an instruction document and an introduction to your team. From the very beginning you will be in complete control of your team, from allocating squad numbers to team selection, from transfer dealings to team training. Every decision you make, both on and off the field, will influence your team.
At first Guru Football Manager might look complex in terms of your weekly actions. It is an in-depth game as we have tried to encompass every aspect of managerial life. The advantage it has over computer games is that you can compete with real people from across the country. We are confident that once you start playing the realism and excitement will make you want to continue. Each week you will be faced with different challenges some of which are more difficult to deal with than others, but no one ever said managing a football team was easy!
